Sven (March 15, 2009): I bought my Teac CD-P3500 new in 1995, and it's still sounding good. The transport has been carefully cleaned and lubed (where applicable) as it began sticking. This was due to placing it on top of the amp and the heat dried the original lithium lube. CD transports are VERY sensitive to friction and should slide if you merely blow on them (exaggerating, but you get the picture. This is with the drive-cogs removed, by the way).
